HostRocket Review:
Overview:
HostRocket, founded in 1999, is located in Clifton Park, NY. They currently offer three shared hosting plans and four dedicated hosting plans.
Customer Support:
We were not impressed with HostRocket's support. We usually experienced longer then average hold times.
Account Management/Control Panel:
HostRocket uses their own control panel. It appears similar to cPanel. A screenshot can be seen below.
Data Center:
The HostRocket data center is in Clifton Park, NY. Redundant OC-12 fiber loops directly from their network to Time Warner
Telecommunications' nationwide fiber network. There is full UPS Battery Backup for all equipment.
All equipment is backed up using multiple separate APC battery backup units to add extra redundancy in case of power failure. All UPS equipment is automatically tested every 2 weeks to ensure working order. Full diesel generator backup for all equipment.
All equipment is on a powerful Kohler diesel power generator which is turned on automatically 4 seconds after a power failure, long before the battery backup begins to fade. 1,000 gallons of fuel are kept on site, with refueling contracts in place.
Bonus Tools / Free Extras:
They offer a script library which contains blogs, mailing lists, polls, amongst others. They also offer the OS commerce shopping cart.
Summary:
HostRocket is an average web hosting solution. They do not offer anything that impressed us. We feel that there are better options available. |
