Web Hosting - reliability and support:
When it comes to choosing a web host, we cannot stress enough how important it is to choose a company who is serious about operating and maintaining a stable environment as well as having the support capacity if anything goes wrong or questions need to be answered.
Reliability:
All web hosting services claim to have to the best bells and whistles, storage, bandwidth, support, etc. but this means nothing if the web servers aren't reliable. Most web hosts claim a 99.9% uptime, but in reality this is not the case. Ask to see their weblogs and ask for references.
Communication:
Make sure the web host has multiple forms of support communication methods such as e-mail, telephone, live chat, trouble ticket system, etc. Also make sure that they are available 24/7.
References:
You may also want to ask them for references, most web hosts will be happy to give you several references if they have good reputation. If a host is reluctant to give you this information, a warning should go off in your head.
Ask around :
Visit web hosting forums, ask friends, and do your research. |
